I flop into the comfortable chair by the fire place. The yellow room is kit around me and there is the quiet hum of chatter of the hufflepuff students. Some had already gone to bed, so that the common room didn't have that crowded feeling, but quite a few hufflepuffs were still miling around talking or working on homework. I had just finished a transfiguration essay on Gamps Laws. It is for a review before the O.W.Ls which are still such a long way away, and I don't see why the teachers are making such a fuss about it. It is just another test!
The quill slides out of my weary hands and onto the table, laying next to my parchment, narrowly avoiding getting ink along the table. I slouch into the comfortable chair, relaxing into it as I let the radiation from the fire heat my face and my hands, lighting me up slightly. Oh I could do with a bit of fun right now. After all that work, I deserve it, don't I? That is why I wait for about ten minutes, sitting there and relaxing, letting a few more people leave the room before I do what I want to do. I close my eyes and look inwardly, a smile forming across my face.
Inside my head I imagine a machine labled "Veela Powers," I look at the nobs on the machine and I start to flick them. A minute kater the machine roars to life and I adjust a small dial's settings from "Low," turning it clockwise. Past "Medium Low" Past "High Low." Past "Low Medium" until I get to high, and then I press the activate switch. I open my eyes and feel the buzz of the beauty around me, and I smile.
